The Jackal: Ladies Man

Since Spikey and Penny are being so amazing at recaps and video finds, I guess I'll stick to commentary ;)

Anyone else find it amazing that Spinelli has had SO MANY potential romantic entanglements, yet NONE have been successful? Lulu, Jolene, Georgie, Nadine, and Maxie (so far...) For someone with so many women in his life, it's a wonder that little Spinny still considers himself so inexperienced! But I'll tell you what: the woman that does get a chance to share hearts with the Jackal will be one lucky woman!

Food for thought: Bradford was chosen to host the behind-the-scenes look at the special effects for the TMK climax on the bridge...why? He/Spinelli didn't have much to do with that portion of this storyline, so why would he be the host? Folks, it's another example of how well-liked Bradford is around the GH set! Here's to lots more special effects and chances for us to see more Bradford!

Blog Exclusive: Q & A with Bradford

Bradford agreed to answer some questions for us (Thank you Bradford) Questions are asked by the blog contributors and a few fans.

Penny: Are you recognized a lot when you are out? When was the first time you where recognized?

Bradford: Practically never in LA, a fair amount when I'm out of town.. But its always "you know who you look like? That really weird lookin' kid on GH!"

Penny: What do you miss most about NH? Did you go to Storyland as a kid?

Bradford: Heck yeah I went to Storyland. And Clark's Trading Post, and Six Gun City.. who needs DisneyWorld or Universal Studios when you can go to 40 yr old tiny theme parks in NH??!!

Penny: With the exception of Spinelli what has been your favorite role?

Bradford: Husband and father. Isn't that what everyone says? Too bad I'm neither of those.

Penny: Which type of work do you prefer Primetime Tv, Daytime, movies, Theater or commercials.

Bradford: DAYTIME!!!! No waiting around. At least not as much as movies or primetime.. and you get new material everyday, its truly like living in a character.

Penny: Do you ever visit any of the fan sites out there? Read the different boards? (There was a great discussion last summer on Soap Central about you arms)

Bradford: My arms?? Last summer?? What about now?? Are they lankier than usual?

Penny: How does it feel to be a recording artist? Has the response surprised you? I mean you are on ITUNES & Amazon.

Bradford: Its really cool to see my name on itunes. And I am so flattered by the response to my song.. I was really nervous about it.. I've never really been that kind of crooner. Comic uptempos is what I mostly did as a stage performer.. so this was kind of a stretch, but boy was it fun!

Penny's Daughter: (Age 4): Do You like Baby Jake? I like Baby Jake. I named my doll Jake.

Bradford: Baby jake is one cool baby. How could he not be? He's the spawn of Stone Cold.

Penny's Son (Age 5 1/2): Whats your favorite Animal?

Bradford: I love all animals. I'm a dog person.. but there is nothing cooler than looking into the eyes of a horse. Such big powerful peaceful animals. If I could keep horses, I most certainly would.

Rene': Obviously, you see how fans react to you. :) Is there a celebrity (or celebrities) that you would have a similar reaction to should you ever have the chance to meet them?

Bradford: I'm actually pretty shy when it comes to celebrities.. I get all nervous. I think I would be most nervous around someone like Meryl Streep or Dustin Hoffman, simply cuz I would want them to like me.

Rene': Who is your favorite actor to work with on GH and are there any you haven't worked with but would like to?

Bradford: Oh that's tough.. I like working with everyone.. but for the sake of pimping my current storyline.. I am going to say without hesitation Kirsten Storms!!! Go SpinMax, or whatever you want to call it.

Rene': What career do you think you would have pursued had it not been acting?

Bradford: I think I would've tried to be financial planner like my Dad, but i would have failed miserably.

Rene': What's your favorite theatrical production (Broadway or otherwise)?

Bradford:I think the Fantasticks is probably the most perfect musical, and I love it.

Rene': What do you like to do when you're not working?

Bradford: Enjoy the lovely weather of southern California. Beach, golf, outdoor cafes. You can't beat this place, and as a New Englander, I still feel like I'm on vacation everyday.

Rene': Do you have any favorite TV shows that you can't miss the way your fans can't miss GH?

Bradford: The first two seasons of West Wing were the best years of any TV show ever. I could watch them over and over every day. So if they were still airing, I would watch them fanatically.

Laurelin: If you could choose one storyline plot for Spinelli to go through, what would it be?

Bradford: Romance. Done.

Laurelin: How much impact does the online fan community have with the show's direction?

Bradford: No way to know.. I know they have research departments who have the responsibility of figuring out what people want to see.. so I'm sure they have ears and eyes that watch the online community.

Laurelin: What's the best way to get our voices and opinions heard?

Bradford:Hire a plane with one of those banner thingies hanging off the back and fly circles around prospect studios. The offices are on the top floor, they'll see it if you keep flying around.

Laurelin: What has been the coolest/scariest thing a fan has done for you?

Bradford: I have so many wonderful fans that everyday make me smile. Be it a kind myspace message, or something in the mail.. or a video that gets forwarded to me that someone made, or coming to events.. I'm taken aback just about everyday by the amount of thoughtful people that are out there.

Laurelin: If you could do a remake of any movie, what would it be and who would you play?

Bradford: Kermit in the muppets take Manhattan.

Spikey: Well, this one is obvious.. can you give us some upcoming spoilers for your storyline?

Bradford: Spinelli has romantic thoughts about a blonde girl.

Spikey: Does you think that they might actually make Spin and Maxie a real couple or just friends?

Bradford: Either way its gonna be a incredibly interesting and wicked fun.

Spikey: There is a rumor going around that he might do DANCING WITH THE STARS. Any truth to that?

Bradford: Where is that rumor?? I wanna know! Sign me up!

Spikey: Some fans are wondering if Spin will ever get to babysit Cam and Jake? Also, if Liz/Jason get together, where will Spin go?

Bradford: Spin will never leave Jason's side.. And he would be a great babysitter.. remember all the wonderful things he taught Kristina about hacking?

Fan: Out of all of his scenes, which has been his favorite to shoot?

Bradford: Hard to say.. I have way too much fun every day.

Fan: Is comedy or drama more challenging?

Bradford: Comedy for sure.. There are more factors. If you're doing a dramatic scene and you're connected to your material, it will be fine no matter what. Comedy requires timing, and if that goes wrong, you're in trouble.

Fan: How does your hair defy gravity the way it does. it fascinates me...if i had your volume I would feel like a supermodel

Bradford: PRODUCT! If there was no product my hair would have no body at all. It would just fall straight down. Not gel, not hairspray.. fiber/texture cream. Oh yes, I love the stuff.

Fan: What is your favorite part about being spin is?

Bradford: My favorite part about playing Spinelli is that I feel like I can do anything. I'm never afraid that I'll do something out of line, and that the more I follow my instincts, the better..

Fan: What videos from youtube have you seen about Spin, Which one is your favorite?

Bradford: I like them all.. I'm still amazed that people take the time to put them together!!! THANK YOU!!!

Fan: What his favorite food and drink?

Bradford: I like wine.. years and years of working in restaurants has instilled that in me. Food wise.. cheese.. Most definitely cheese.

Fan: I'd like to know what your future goals are. I'm also curious about what kind of music you like?

Bradford: I have no goals. I'm doing what I love to do, and I am so lucky for that. If I continue to do this, or move on to something else.. I'll be happy. So that's my goal.. staying happy. I don't see myself not achieving that. Cuz I can be happy doing pretty much anything!
Music--hmmm. I like lots of stuff. Currently I'm into Muse and the Decemberists

Love Affair Interview

Bradford and a few other stars where interviewed by The Albany Herald
http://www.albanyherald.com/stories/20080126f1.htm
by CATHY HIGGINS The Albany Herald

When “General Hospital’s” Bradford Anderson approached jazz standard “My Funny Valentine,” he knew he had his work cut out for him.

“The thing is, it is one of the most depressing songs in the world,” he said in a recent telephone interview from the soap’s Los Angeles studio. “This person is miserable because they’re pining for the person they’re singing to.”

Not only that, but the actor follows a long line of more than 600 singers to perform “My Funny Valentine” since Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart penned it in 1937.

“Everyone’s sung it,” said Anderson, who plays Damian Spinelli on “General Hospital.”

Everyone from Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand to Van Morrison and Carly Simon.

But Anderson found conquering the song, itself, to be the most formidable task.

“Vocally, it’s pretty challenging,” he said.

But when the New York University Tisch School of the Arts graduate recorded the tune, he had a little inspiration from someone special, who sat in on the session.

“I sang it to my girlfriend,” Anderson said
There are some other great parts so check out the whole article.
